Crowley

Aziraphale didn't quite know what to do with himself.

Ever since the night before, when he'd blinked away from Crowley - Crowley who had kissed him. He was confused, and he was having feelings, and he didn't know how to deal with any of them.

So of course he decided to read one of his favorite books.

He put a "CLOSED" sign on the bookshop door, and sat down with a misprinted bible and a cup of tea.

"I know you don't," was all he said, then began walking to the water. The waves came in and rolled up the beach, just wetting his feet. "Oh, it's warmer than I assumed. Must be climate change."

"So sad," Aziraphale said, and followed him. He stood close to Crowley as he walked into the water, feeling it lapping up at his ankles. "Oh, this is so nice, though."

He was standing close enough that their wing overlapped, brushing against each other, and Aziraphale shivered.

Crowley felt the shiver, how could he not? He flexed his wing just a bit to stroke it again gently.

"You know, it's rather nice the sea didn't actually boil. Imagine all the poor dolphins."

Aziraphale couldn't help but enjoy the feeling of their wings brushing together. He hardly ever had his out; they were hardly ever touched, but it was sensitive in a lovely way.

"Sorry, what did you say?" he asked, realizing he was so distracted by the sensation that he'd missed it entirely.

[sauntereddownward]

"The dolphins. Not boiled alive. A good thing," Crowley said, still tenderly tickling the angel's feathers.

"Oh, right," said Aziraphale vaguely, and actually closed his eyes now. He had no idea if Crowley was doing it on purpose, but it felt lovely.

But of course he was doing it on purpose. It was little more than a flex for him, but he could see the Divine pleasure on Aziraphale's face.

"And the kraken. Good thing he went back to bed..."

[theangelfell]

"Mmhmm kraken," Aziraphale murmured. The waves lapping at his feet, the sun on his face, the caress on his wings, it was all so lovely, and he decided this had been a very good idea after all.

Crowley took a step closer. He properly wrapped his black wing, warm from the sun, around the angel.

"Funny if that was the plan all along, hmm?" Crowley mused.

"To boil the kraken?" Aziraphale said, and leaned against him.

[sauntereddownward]

"No, no, no. To not boil him. To have it all called off," he said quietly.

[theangelfell]

"Oh, I see," Azirpahale sighed, and somehow got even closer to Crowley. It was warm wrapped up in his wings like that.

Crowley gave a very unsubtle stretch of his wings, eased in closer until Aziraphale was pressed quite well against him, then brough his wing back down. Wing to wing, body to body, they looked out at the dazzling waves.

"Plenty of fish in the sea, they say," he said absently. "All those fish, all that ocean. Nice to think that the right ones find one another in all that mess, don't you think?"

"I don't think fish are monogamous," Aziraphale said. Even as he felt something kind of warm in thinking the same kind of thing himself right now.

[sauntereddownward]

"Of course not. Well, clown fish. Finding Nemo. I'm pretty sure clown fish are monogamous," came his reply.

[theangelfell]

"Well, maybe they still find each other," Aziraphale said after a moment. "Like... like you and I."

[sauntereddownward]

"To be fair, angel, we never really lost each other," Crowley pointed out. "Just...got busy with other things."

[theangelfell]

"Well, there was a time when we... found each other again and again," Aziraphale said quietly.

[sauntereddownward]

"Don't I know it," he drawled. "And now...we're in the clear. Do our jobs, but no pesky reports to write. No paperwork. I think they'll leave us be for a good long while, don't you? Just imagine what we could get up to...unsupervised."

[theangelfell]

Crowley made a good point. "What would you want to get up to?" Aziraphale asked him.

[sauntereddownward]

Crowley turned his head to look at Aziraphale and he grinned a viper's smile.

"Awwohh, nothing good, I'm sure."

[theangelfell]

"I'd just like some warning is all," Aziraphale said.

[sauntereddownward]

"Why on Earth would I give you warning?" the demon scoffed. "Most of the fun comes from the look on your face."

[theangelfell]

"Ah," said Aziraphale. "And I imagine I rarely ever shock you."

[sauntereddownward]

"There have been times," Crowley admitted. "A few times. A couple times. One...well, no. No, you rarely shock me, angel."

He flicked his wing to give Aziraphale's ass a bit of a pat.
